Its too bad these START at $300K
Hard to see this car never cutting a curve on those empty roads…
I wish Subaru would back Prodrive and allow them to make more of them to lower the price tag ..most people that buy Subaru which got them to this point with the WRX deserve to be able to afford one and quit leaving them to rich people that have never even sat in a Subaru before and will have them sitting in their garage waiting on them to appreciate in value so they can resale them
Still, I would take McLaren.
I've never seen so many flames coming out of a stock, unmodified sports car. This car is a masterpiece.

I just pulled out the issue this relates to a couple of days ago. Forgot this was here. Can only echo that this is what the thrill of driving is about. cars being driven properly with just the engine sound as a backdrop.

I think Jethro has missed the point here. He's gone to the track as that's the assumption that that's what you're supposed to do with a Lotus. Lotus previously sold hardly any cars - and targeted themselves towards the track day driver hence narrowing their customer base. Lotus of old never appealed to me for that very reason. The Emira is designed for the road - the very place that 99.9% of people will use it. The Porsche (to me at least) - while clinically superior I'm certain - lacks soul and looks bland by comparison whereby the Emira, without being overly flashy looks like a work of art.
What did the same generation GT3/RS run on this circuit? This turbo S did 1:13.6 for reference.
Looking back, the decision to chose a Panamera S for this race is clearly a significant disadvantage though, the Turbo or the Turbo S is much better on the grand scale of things

The GTR HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE BENCHMARK
It’s a heavy Datsun that’s outdated. Just because it has a NiSMO badge on it doesn’t make it worth all that extra money. Quick machine but so outdated!

I love these, but completely out of my price range. Bought an Evo2 when they were cheap many years ago, a few mods like BWE chip, FE springs, Tarrox brakes, Supersprint exhaust transformed it to another level without stress cracks or blowing up the engine. I'm old now and its plenty for me. I'm not interested in breaking any records or being the fasted off the lights. If I was I would buy something quicker. For me its about driving one of the finest cars made, looking after it and being fabulously grateful that I was lucky to be in the position to be in the right place at the right time.
Gen 2 have more power not 276hp
Why was this uploaded in 240p when at times it was about 1 frame per second. Come on Evo 1080p 60fps in 2009 was a thing.

Hey the lotus beat almost beat the 400k ford gt and nearly tied the amg, only lost out to the 700 hp gt 2. All that without a computer shifting the gears and at a far lower cost than the others. Should be commended

BUFFERING! Friend bought one for $215k and is pretty upset because it becomes hard to live with when we went on a recent roadtrip with our Porsches. The buffering strip doesn’t help enough. All the other comments here don’t mean much and while may be true performance-wise, don’t solve for the practical livability. Can’t believe Porsche missed this…
